Most Tax Refunds are issued by the IRS within 21 days or less, however, it is possible that your tax return may be under additional review due to which your refund hasn’t yet been issued and is taking longer than normal.
If your refund hasn’t yet been issued then you can check the status of your Refund to find out what’s taking it so long and why it hasn’t been issued.

- Social security number or ITIN
- Your filing status
- Your exact refund amount

Get Refund Status through Mobile
You can check out the status of your Income Tax return either through your smartphone by using an app called the IRS2Go App which will let you check your Refund Status by entering the aforementioned details.
Most of the refunds are issued by the IRS within 21 days of your filing. However, if it has been longer than that then you should contact the IRS regarding your Refund.
Contacting the IRS is ideal in cases where:
- It has been 21 days or longer since you e-filed for your Tax Return
